Get Fuller Eyelashes – Grow Your Lashes With EnvyDerm #Giveaway

What’s the secret to fuller lashes?

Retail Cost:  $99.95

It never fails.  The men get beautiful, healthy long lashes in my family and I’m cursed with short, straight and some times non-existent eyelashes.  I have my mother to thank for that.  I remember growing up watching her apply fake lashes each morning as part of her routine.  For whatever reason I have never had the discipline and because of that have always had “blah” eyes.  For the past two weeks I have been using EnvyDerm to see if I can fix my lash problem.

What is EnvyDerm?

EnvyDerm is a groundbreaking, new nonprescription formula eyelash growth serum.  The active (natural) ingredients include bioavailable lipo-oligopeptides that stimulate keratin genes.  The SymPeptide technology lengthens and strengthens natural lashes.  It also contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to moisturize and nourish lashes and brows.  Honestly, I have no idea what lipo-oligopeptides or SymPeptide technology is, but I do know that for me personally I have had no problem using this for the past couple weeks.

How is EnvyDerm used?

EnvyDerm is applied each night before bedtime to the root of your top and bottom lashes with s soft bristled applicator.  The product itself is clear and applied much like liquid eyeliner.  My personal experience with the product has been fine, although when I accidentally got it in my eye it did sting a little but went away with a couple blinks of the eye and caused no damage.

When can I expect to see results?

According to the chart below the lash line becomes thicker in as little as two weeks.  I missed application 4 nights this week but by next week I should see some changes.  According to the manufacturer users saw a 25 percent increase in length during this period as well.

Where can I buy EnvyDerm?

You can purchase EnvyDerm from Amazon.com, EnvyDerm.com, Drugstore.com, and Overstock.com.  However, you can win one Envyderm product with a retail value of: $99.95 right here!

What My Mom Taught Me About Being A Parent

Because Mother’s Day is fast approaching I was asked the following about parenting advice:

What is the best advice your mother ever gave to you about parenting?

We all learned something from our moms. What did yours teach you (either when you were little or a mom yourself!) that you’re grateful to know today?

Honestly, I don’t ever recall my mom sitting me down to give me parenting advice.  I do, however, remember critiquing her parenting skills while growing up.  I remember saying a million times that “I’ll never do that” or something similar.  A great example – my mother used to lick her finger or napkin or whatever was handy to wipe something from my face.  I absolutely hated it.  I swore I would NEVER do that to my child – ever!  I do it though and giggle every time.

I think the most valuable thing my mom ever taught me was independence and self-reliance.  My mother let me make mistakes as I grew up.  My mom let me experience life with no (visible) strings attached, holding me back.  She offered guidance, but always honored my choices – even the wrong ones.  My mom didn’t coddle me and that is something I am thankful for…

My children are raised the same way.  I do not spoil them, only with love.  I make my children do chores around the house and give them responsibilities.  My children will make mistakes, but I will guide them to help ensure those mistakes won’t be disastrous.   I am raising my children much like my mom raised me.  Why?  Because it worked.

Thanks Mom for teaching me how to be a Mom.

I was recently shipped a beauty gift package from P&G (and I’m giving away one to a lucky reader) containing a bunch of great products.  I’ve tried every one of them and wanted to share a few of my favorites with you.

Olay – Purely Pristine

This new body wash scent is clean and fresh.  I tried the moisturizing body wash with micro-beads and loved it.  I’ve tried a lot of moisturizing body washes that left me feeling like I had a film on my skin but this made my skin feel both clean and soft.  I preferred over the cleansing body wash with micro-beads because I have a problem with dry skin in the winter.  I also got the massaging bar but haven’t tried it.

Secret Natural Mineral

I love the scent.  I don’t sweat, but I still need to wear deodorant to feel comfortable.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration

If you have a problem with dry hair this is the answer to your problem  Herbal Essences Hello Hydration has a great scent, but more importantly it kept my hair from frizzing all day (a problem I was having prior using this).

Olay Professional ProX

My husband has been laughing at me because I use this religiously in the shower to clean my problem areas around my nose.  I love it and it has been working great.  I kind of like the way it feels too…

Products To Try This Month: Firefly Toothbrush, Sugar-Free Margarita Mix, and ScarAway Review

This past month I tried a bunch of different products including the FireFly Toothbrushes, ScarAway, and Sinless Margarita Mix.  Did you try anything new that you want to share?  I would love to hear about it!

Hit:

FireFly Toothbrush created a hit – at least in my son’s eyes.  We tested the new series of their character toothbrushes and James loves them.  The toothbrush lights up for the exact amount of time a child is supposed to brush their teeth for letting them know when to stop.  It works so much better for us than the singing toothbrushes because those songs drive me nuts…lol.  You really should check the new characters out – Spiderman, Barbie, and Hot Wheels to name a few.  You can purchase them on Amazon.com or through your local grocery store.

This “flashy” FireFly family includes:

  • Original FireFly – A brightly colored toothbrush with a flashing light that blinks to indicate how long your child should brush each row of teeth, top and bottom.  Try it in “disco mode” with lights off!  SRP $.99
  • Baby FireFly - Babies love color and light, and this toothbrush, which comes in baby pink and baby blue, lights up and flashes to keep them distracted while mommy brushes their teeth.  Sized for baby and toddlers’ mouth.  SRP $2.49
  • Barbie – The legendary doll and original FireFly’s chic cousin.  The light even blinks a sparkly pink to match Barbie’s dress.  SRP $2.99
  • Spiderman – The super-hero alter-ego of the FireFly – defends against the dark forces of cavities while scaling tall buildings.  SRP $2.99
  • Hot Wheels – Auto-motivate your child to brush longer and better! This toothbrush features the classic toy car and puts kids in the driver’s seat when it comes to good hygiene.  SRP $2.99
  • Peanuts - The beloved Snoopy is now tooth brushing’s best friend.   The winsome canine from the iconic comic strip sits atop this colorful toothbrush.  SRP $2.49

I’m back on the healthier lifestyle, smarter choices wagon.  I recently got to try the Sinless Margarita mix and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I’m not a big drinker, but every once in a while I will have a cocktail with my husband.  I especially liked that there are only 5 calories – instead of 65!  I could have had two, three, or four for that small caloric intake – but I stuck with one much to my husband’s dismay.

The Sinless Margarita is made from a perfect blend of stevia extract (from the South American Stevia plant) and all-natural citrus juices, a Sinless Margarita has the enjoyable taste of a traditional margarita. In fact, Sinless Margarita contains 100 percent of the daily-recommended value of vitamin C.  One liter bottles retail for $7.99 and can be ordered through their site and other select locations.

Don’t Know Yet:

With my recent gall bladder surgery I have 3 small scars that I am trying to fade.  For the past couple weeks I  have been testing this new product called ScarAway.  It is a silicone scar sheet that reduces and prevents raised (and keloid) scars from surgeries, injuries, and burns.  The sheets are one size but they can be cut to go over smaller scars like mine.  The “patch” is not at all uncomfortable and I can barely tell I have it on.  I’ll let you know how it works out – but for now it is a viable option for those with scars.

Suggested retail:

  • ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets box of 8 standard size sheets: $19.99
  • ScarAway C-Section Sheets (1.5” x 7”) box of four: $22.99
  • ScarAway 100% Silicone Gel Serum for exposed or hard to treat areas like face, scalp and ears, .5 oz bottle: $29.99

Silicone Sheets Available at Walgreens (nationwide), Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Drug Emporium of West Virginia, and Duane Reade. ScarAway C-Section Sheets Exclusively Available at Duane Reade

Full line of products available online at Drugstore.com and Amazon.com
